ON THE back of President Hakainde Hichilema’s emphasis that Government offers the 288 chiefs decent accommodation, a contract has been signed for building of 81 palaces for traditional leaders.
The agreement will see Zambia Correctional Service (ZCS) construct 81 palaces in seven provinces and hand them over to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary for administration Maambo Haamaundu and ZCS commissioner general Fredrick Chilukutu signed the K311,011,358.88 contract yesterday.
Funding for this project has been drawn from Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
